Bette Erickson - Former Broomfield Mayor ProTem & Councilmember, 2015-2019
Incredibly proud to have earned the endorsement of such an amazing Broomfield leader, Bette Erickson. There are not many Broomfield leaders that have had the kind of impact on our community like Bette. Thank you for your support, it means a lot!
Steve Bauer - Owner, North Side Tavern Restaurant
I have always discouraged talking about politics and religion in our restaurant to avoid conflicts and stay neutral, but today I am going to break my own rule. If you live between Midway and Highway 7 and Zuni and Lowell, you live in Ward 5.
I am a restaurant/small business owner in Broomfield. I own the North Side Tavern and I endorse Grayson Hofferber for Broomfield city council because he is a candidate that has the character, I believe our community needs right now. I have gotten to know Grayson and his family over the past 5 years from him supporting our small business as a patron and being a participative leader at the chamber of commerce. I have had interaction with Grayson at every charity and community event the North Side Tavern has ever participated in. To me, he is physically and tirelessly vested in supporting and helping people. Grayson shows up with his sleeves rolled up, wanting to help and make a difference. He is a do’er not a talker. Grayson is a really good listener and has always been there for our small business, even during these unprecedented couple of years when the world turned upside down. The year I participated in the Broomfield Foundation’s big fundraiser, dancing with stars, Grayson also participated as a contestant dancer, luckily good dancing skills is not a trait necessary to be a great council person, but he once again showed me that he was there, probably not in his comfort zone, to make a difference for the love of his community.
Why would I endorse Grayson Hofferber now? The short reason is as a small business owner in Broomfield, I find myself in a very different world, a world out of balance, a world that often leaves me scratching my head too often, thinking this doesn’t make sense. It’s time for more balance and common sense which I find to not be so common these days. Grayson is balanced, he has the traits I am looking for in a council member for the people of Broomfield and small businesses just like mine.
Here are the top 5 reasons, I support Grayson.
1. Grayson has been, for the whole time I have known him, an active philanthropist. Every event The North Side Tavern has done in our community, Grayson has been there participating. So much so, I would joke with him and ask him when would he be running for mayor because he participated so much in community events and you knew he was there. He has heart, he gives of himself. A person that cares that much about giving back, has a heart for people, that’s a good starting trait for a leader.
2. Grayson has three beautiful children. I believe he will sincerely evaluate his decisions with a focus on how it will impact children and families just like his in our neighborhood today and in the future.
3. Grayson is both a resident and a small business owner in Broomfield that is very active in the Chamber of Commerce. With those experiences, he brings a first-hand balanced perspective of being a local resident and understanding the needs of small businesses here in Broomfield. In that spirit, he has both our backs.
4. Grayson has received some great endorsements from former community leadership, many whom I have gotten to know as guests of my restaurant, all of which I respect, so it’s not just me that see’s the potential leadership Grayson would bring into office, it’s also people with experience in those positions.
5. Grayson is a younger and full of energy politician with a very mature mindset and balanced way of thinking. Working in local government takes a lot of fortitude and energy, we need someone in office, that is going to get out there tirelessly to get things done. There is no doubt in my mind Grayson is that guy.
Grayson sounds too good to be true, right? Grayson is true, balanced, and a class act. I have been in the restaurant business for over 40 years, I have seen my share of people and know character when I see it. Our government needs more of that right now. Again, I am not one that normally gets involved in election politics, but Grayson has SHOWN me through HIS ACTIONS over the past 5 years that he is a real deal, I have no choice but to get behind this guy and his wife. I hope you will too.
My local election ballots are sitting on my dining room table waiting for me to take action for my community. Yours might be sitting there waiting for you too. I encourage you to get to those ballots for both our sakes. As an owner of a local restaurant and bar, you often hear people complaining about today’s world. Today, I hear more complaints and confusion than ever, take your opportunity to take action to make things better. Learn about your candidates, look past the mudslinging and usual political B.S. that takes place, and look at the character of those running.
Still not sure? Grayson will be that the North Side Tavern this Thursday evening starting after 5pm. Test and question his character face to face, meet the man and look him in the eyes. You will be hard-pressed to find better than Grayson. Research, vote, and make a difference. You’ll be glad you did!

I have known Grayson Hofferber for quite a while. He has helped manage family finances for quite some time, and of course, I have met him on the “volunteer circuit” in Broomfield.
There are three things I’d like you to know about Grayson. First of all, he is very bright. My family has been astounded at how well our investments under his care have done—far outperforming the averages. With the abrupt departure of our last mayor, there is no one on the council who has an intuitive understanding of financial matters. We need someone of Grayson’s intellect and ability to help make sure that the city’s finances are carefully managed.
Secondly, Grayson is an excellent listener. We meet quarterly to discuss finances, and he always listens well and thinks carefully about his responses. He always answers questions completely and with as much detail as I like. “Listening well” is a rare skill in a politician, and Grayson is very good at it.
The last thing I’d like you to know about Grayson is that he is a man of faith and optimism. His cheerful and debonair manner is testimony to his belief that Broomfield’s best days lie ahead. We have challenges, of course, but thoughtful and steady leadership will see us all through.
Grayson Hofferber will serve all of us well on City Council. You should vote for him.

As a former council member representing Ward 5 and a strong community advocate, I fully support Grayson Hofferber in his bid to represent Ward 5 on City Council. Over the years I've watched Grayson join the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, help found HYPE, and take a major role in turning around the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, even serving two terms as its Chairman - the first person to be elected to two terms. As a local business owner and Financial Planner, Grayson understands the needs of Broomfield businesses and how to make wise and prudent financial choices to support residents and meet Broomfield needs without overspending and causing unnecessary financial burdens on residents.
Grayson and his family have lived in two different areas of Ward 5, giving him a unique understanding of both established and growing Broomfield and what those differing needs are. Since establishing their family in Ward 5 in 2016, Grayson and his family have spent countless hours volunteering within the community. As I've gotten to know his family and their community involvement, I've seen that they are the epitome of what it means to be a Broomfielder.
